This is a Coed 4-on-4 sand/grass league
The summer outdoor season runs from early June through late August, culminating with an end-of-the-season BBQ and tournament. We play at Marchisio Park in Pittsfield, where we have both sand and grass courts — so be prepared to play on both! All levels of players are welcome.
Details:
- Day/Time: Tuesday evenings / 5:45pm ’til dark
- Location: Marchisio Park (274 Dalton Division Rd., Pittsfield)
- Requirements: High-school age and up; Teams are comprised of 4 players. Most teams consist of 2 women and 2 men. You can have more than 4 players on your roster, but you need to have at least 2 women on the court at all times.
- Registration fee: Members – $10; Non-members – $25
Format:
Berkshire Volleyball’s summer league employs a unique “ladder” format of play that ensures maximum fun and evenly-matched competition. Three teams are assigned to a court each week and play each other twice, round-robin style, so everybody is guaranteed to play four games each night. The “first place” team (the team with the best W/L record on each court) moves “up the ladder” to a higher court the next week; the “third place” team moves down the ladder, and the “second place” team stays put. Teams will quickly play their way up or down the ladder until they reach the level where they are most competitive — so every week will be challenging & fun!
League play start times:
- 5:45-6:00pm – Net set up.
**At least one person from each team is required to help set up and take down the nets each week.**
- 6:00-6:15pm – Warm ups
- 6:15pm – Matches begin
Recomendations:
Bring water, a beach chair and bug spray. Also, Marchisio park also has a playground for the kids (supervision required), so feel free to bring the family, too!
